Urban Transportation

Buses and trams cover the whole of the city and its surroundings from morning (almost all lines start operating at 5 am) until about midnight. The tickets can be purchased at tobacconists’, newsagents and public places displaying the GTT sign. There are various ticket possibilities: the ordinary urban ticket with 70-minute validity, the 15–ticket block, and so on. In every district you will find taxi ranks with call phone. You may call or reserve a taxi through the switchboards of consortia and companies. Calls for taxi transport service must be addressed directly to the taxi headquarter. Torino downtown has a limited private car circulation and non-accessible streets i.e. a "Limited Traffic Zone" (ZTL) closed to traffic on defined days, hours and special occasions. Street cameras monitor all access roads.
